AuruMar (Pty) Ltd. is a technical services company, established by De Beers (www.debeersgroup.com) and AngloGold Ashanti (www.anglogoldashanti.co.za) as a result of their marine exploration and mining joint venture announced in October 2009.

Based in Cape Town, AuruMar was set up to manage the technical and operational aspects of the joint venture’s projects which focus on the exploration for gold and other heavy minerals on the continental shelves of the world.

Through an exclusive technical services agreement, AuruMar will draw on the extensive experience of De Beers Marine as a services provider during the execution of the anticipated work programmes.
